## Flux AI review: what the credits really cost for a family Christmas card run

We read the live pricing pages, did the per-image math and gathered every public rating we could find for flux-ai.io, now called Flyne AI.

## Verdict

**Score: 5.5/10**

Flux AI (flux-ai.io, now rebranded Flyne AI) is a credit marketplace for image and video models, not a card maker. One Flux 1.1 Pro image costs 50 credits, so $0.089 to $0.125. Fine for trying painted styles, thin on trust: 3 Trustpilot reviews, and free generations are public. Score: 5.5/10 for a Christmas card project.

**Quick scores:**

- Price per image: 7/10
- Model variety: 8/10
- Free tier: 5/10
- Privacy defaults: 3/10
- Reputation evidence: 4/10
- Fit for printed cards: 5/10

**Pros:**

- 19 model cards on one login, from Flux.1 [schnell] to Nano Banana Pro
- Per-image cost falls to $0.089 for Flux 1.1 Pro on the largest pack
- Free tier needs no card: 40 credits, then 20 per daily check-in

**Cons:**

- Free tier excludes private generations and commercial rights
- Only 3 Trustpilot reviews and none in the last 12 months
- Brand moved to Flyne AI and the new price list drops the Flux models

> **Disclosure** — Disclosure: we have no affiliate agreement with Flux AI or Flyne AI, and the buttons on this page point to the official site. ## How we tested

- **Plan paid:** None. Free tier viewed, no purchase made
- **Version tested:** flux-ai.io and flyne.ai pricing pages, October 15, 2026
- **Test period:** 2026-10-15 → 2026-10-15

**Test categories:** Pricing math, Free tier limits, Credit validity, Interface, Public ratings, Privacy defaults

This is a desk review, and we say so up front. We did not subscribe, and the generator asks for a login before it renders anything, so we have no image outputs of our own to show you. What we did do: we loaded flux-ai.io and flyne.ai on October 15, 2026, copied the credit packs and the per-image credit costs, and divided price by credits to get a cost per image. We read the free tier limits, the credit expiry rules and the default Public switch in the generator. Then we collected public ratings from Trustpilot, the App Store and Uneed, and searched Reddit, G2 and Capterra. Scores are our editorial judgment of that evidence, not lab results.

## Should you use Flux AI for holiday cards?

**YES if you...**

- You want to try several painted or illustrated styles for a card image before committing
- You are comfortable writing prompts and rerunning a render three or four times
- You will print the result yourself or through a print shop you already use

**NO if you...**

- You want a finished, printed and mailed card without handling files yourself
- You plan to upload family photos and expect them to stay private on the free tier
- You need a stable price list: the platform is mid-rebrand and the model menu is changing
- You rely on independent reviews to pick a vendor, because there are very few

## What each credit pack costs

### Free — $0

40 credits at signup

- 20 credits per daily check-in
- Flux.1 [schnell] and [dev] only
- 15-day history
- No private generations
- No commercial right

### Basic — $9.99one-time

4,000 credits

- $0.0025 per credit
- 80 images at 50 credits
- Credits valid 100 days
- Private generations
- Commercial right

### Ultra — $19.99one-time *(Best for one card run)*

10,000 credits

- $0.0020 per credit
- 200 images at 50 credits
- Credits valid 100 days
- 365-day history

### More — $49.99one-time

26,000 credits

- $0.0019 per credit
- 520 images at 50 credits
- Fast generation queue

### Max — $99.99one-time

56,000 credits

- $0.0018 per credit
- 1,120 images at 50 credits
- Largest discount: 28.6% off the Basic rate

**ROI breakdown:** A family card run is small. Thirty cards, three renders each, at 50 credits per render is 4,500 credits, which is about $9 to $11 on the Ultra or Basic rates. The Max pack only pays off if you generate hundreds of images.

**Hidden costs & gotchas:**

- Premium features last 1 month from payment, while credits last 100 days, so buying in October does not cover a December rush
- Credits spent on a bad render are not refunded, a complaint that shows up in the App Store reviews
- No printing, paper or postage: the output is a file you still have to print

*The pricing page*

## Five columns, one rule: credits expire after 100 days

The flux-ai.io pricing page as loaded on October 15, 2026. The four paid columns share one feature list and differ only in credits, so cost per credit is the number to compare.

- Free: 40 credits at signup, 20 per daily check-in
- Basic $9.99 for 4,000 credits, Max $99.99 for 56,000
- Credits valid for 100 days, premium features for 1 month

## Customer ratings by platform

Real ratings gathered from public pages. The two namesake cards are shown so you do not mix them up with flux-ai.io.

## What we measured

- **Cost per Flux.1 [schnell] image (10 credits):** $0.018 to $0.025 *(Max pack to Basic pack, flux-ai.io list, October 15, 2026)*
- **Cost per Flux 1.1 Pro image (50 credits):** $0.089 to $0.125 *(Max pack to Basic pack, same list)*
- **Cost per Flux Kontext Max edit (100 credits):** $0.179 to $0.250 *(Photo edits cost double a Kontext Pro edit)*
- **Credit price spread:** $0.0025 to $0.0018 per credit *(28.6% lower on the $99.99 pack than on the $9.99 pack)*
- **Free credits at signup:** 40 credits *(Plus 20 per check-in. One Flux.1 [dev] image costs 30, so one check-in alone cannot pay for it)*
- **Credit validity:** 100 days *(Premium features are valid for 1 month only)*
- **Model cards on the home page:** 19 *(13 Flux variants plus Seedream, Nano Banana and GLM Image)*
- **Trustpilot score for flux-ai.io:** 3.1 out of 5 *(3 reviews, 0 in the last 12 months, unclaimed profile)*

> Read the free column and the four paid columns of the pricing page and compare them.

Free lists 40 signup credits and 20 daily ones, with private generations and commercial right crossed out. Paid packs run $9.99 to $99.99, all with 100-day validity.

## Pros and cons in detail

### Pros

- **One login covers 19 image models** — Flux.1 [schnell] at 10 credits sits next to Nano Banana Pro at 50.
- **Cost per image drops with pack size** — A Flux 1.1 Pro render falls to $0.089 on the largest pack.
- **Free signup credits need no card** — 40 credits cover 4 schnell renders, a fair way to test prompts.
- **Photo editing and restoration tools are listed** — Old Photo Restore costs 30 credits, Photo to Cartoon 40.

### Cons

- **Free generations are public by default** — The Public switch is on and private generations are not in the free column.
- **Almost no independent review volume** — Trustpilot holds 3 reviews, none in the last 12 months.
- **Mid-rebrand price list and model menu** — The Flyne AI image price list shows no Flux model, flux-ai.io still does.
- **Credits are spent on every attempt, good or bad** — Budget three renders per keeper, not one.
- **Output is a file, not a card** — No paper, no print, no postage.

## Final verdict

**Score: 5.5/10**

Flux AI is a reasonable sandbox and an unproven vendor. The pricing is easy to understand once you divide it out: a Flux 1.1 Pro render costs between $0.089 and $0.125, and a whole family card run lands near ten dollars. The model menu is wide, and the free credits let you test prompts before paying.

What holds the score down is everything around the images. Three Trustpilot reviews are not evidence either way. Free generations are public. The brand is moving to Flyne AI, and the new price list we read no longer shows the Flux models that gave the site its name. If you buy credits, check the pack on the exact site you will use.

Use it if you enjoy prompting and will print the files yourself. Skip it if you want a finished card in the mailbox, or if the photo is of your kids. Five and a half out of ten.

**Dimensional scoring:**

- **Price per image:** 7/10 — $0.089 to $0.125 for Flux 1.1 Pro
- **Model variety:** 8/10 — 19 model cards
- **Free tier:** 5/10 — 40 credits, then 20 a day
- **Privacy defaults:** 3/10 — Public switch on, private is paid
- **Reputation evidence:** 4/10 — 3 Trustpilot reviews
- **Fit for printed cards:** 5/10 — File only, no print
